A 31-year-old man from Birmingham has been jailed for 30 months for his role in an organised crime network transporting hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of stolen luxury car parts for export overseas.

Osvaldas Ubarevicius, a Lithuanian national formerly of Browns Green, #Birmingham, was convicted of conspiring to dishonestly receive stolen goods and possessing criminal property following a trial at Winchester Crown Court.

Wiltshire Police discovered a suspected vehicle dismantling operation at a lock-up on farmland near Malmesbury on 22 April 2026, after receiving information from a private tracking company.

CCTV enquiries linked a white Mercedes Sprinter van to the site. Two days later, Hertfordshire Police stopped the van and discovered parts from a vehicle stolen earlier that morning. The van itself was also stolen.

Ubarevicius was arrested and subsequently charged.

Investigators established that the operation involved at least £325,000 worth of stolen vehicle parts, with their resale value potentially significantly higher.

DC Sue McCartney said Ubarevicius had played an important role in a criminal network that caused considerable financial loss and distress to victims.
